Rwanda, located in East and Central Africa, is best known for its Bourbon variety of Arabica coffee beans, which have grown wildly in Rwanda for more than a century. Bourbon coffee plants contain fewer coffee beans than other types of coffee plants. They have a sweet taste with fruit undertones. The coffee growing regions in Rwanda are Virunga, Kizi Rift, Akagera, Muhazi and Kivu. These are approximately 1,800 to 2,200 meters above sea level.
